History of the Brownies Brownies were originally known as Rosebuds but they changed their name to Brownies at the beginning of 1915. Being a Brownie is all about having loads of fun and a huge adventure! To be a Brownie you have just got to be a girl aged between seven and 10 years old. Brownies meet together in a Pack. The Pack is made up of small groups called Sixes. You have a special badge to show what Six you belong to. The pack is run by a guider and a team of adult leaders. They look after you and make sure you have a great time on your Brownie Adventure. There are Brownie sleepovers, holidays and camps and adventure days to look forward to. All Brownies have a Brownies Adventure Book and Brownie Badge Book. The Brownie Adventure Book will start you on your adventure and give you an idea about what being a Brownie is all about. The Brownie Badge Book tells you about working towards different badges . Badges may cover hobbies or interests. You can do as many or as few as you want. Llysworney and the surrounding areas have a very active and well supported Brownie Pack. The Brownies are run by Helen, Dawn and Felicity. Currently the Pack is some 20 or more strong.
